Ragging is a disturbing reality in the higher education system of our country. Despite the fact that over the years ragging has claimed hundreds of innocent lives and has ruined careers of thousands of bright students, the practice is still perceived by many as a way of "familiarization" and an "initiation into the real world" for young college-going students.
According to UGC guidelines of Anti ragging act senior students are instructed not to take part in ragging activities and the newly joined students are advised to post the complaint either through tutors or on their own.
The Anti-Ragging Committee is involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the menace of ragging in the college by adopting an array of activities. The committee is also responsible for conducting awareness programmes from time-to-time inside the campus. Once the complaint is registered the committee members immediately conducts the enquiry and relevant action is taken so that similar incidences will not be happened again.
